Wendy's career in the wellness industry began in 2002 as a running coach for various race distances. Her joy in helping people reach their personal goals, coupled with her education in body mechanics, physiology and behavioral modification techniques led her to pursue her American Council on Exercise Personal Trainer certification in 2004.
Throughout her many years of training clients, she realized that no matter how hard she tried to help her clients correct muscular imbalances through exercise alone, she knew she wasn't getting to the root cause of the imbalances to create true, long-term change. This realization led Wendy to become both a Certified Massage Therapist (CA #90916) and Certified Muscle Activation Techniques Practitioner so she could help facilitate positive change in her clients' muscular systems, body mechanics, performance in life and sport, and also in their overall feeling of wellbeing.
Wendy is also a Klose Certified Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist and is skilled in the Vodder Technique for reducing pain and edema due to a number of causes including surgery, injury, cancer, lymphedema, autoimmune disorders, and migraines. She is also trained as a Post-Surgical Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies.
Wendy's approach to working with her clients begins, first and foremost, by genuinely listening to her client's needs, issues, and goals to create appropriate treatment sessions. She works with her clients with open communication, focus on the outcome her clients desire, follow-up, and creating an experience that is progressive and enjoyable!
Wendy enjoys the simple beach life, spending her free time running the coast and staying strong through weight training. Her favorite thing in life is creating fun memories with her family and friends!
